| This overnight was a very cold one; 16 degrees F. to be exact. When we first arrived, everyone unpacked their personal, and Troop equipment. We had one cabin for everyone. And it is my favorite. It has two bathrooms and a kitchen. There were about 20 bunks so most of us had to sleep on the floor. Troop 777 reached our cabin a few minutes after we had finished unpacking and organizing the cabin. They were very interested in getting to know us, so we prepared and conducted many basic presentations. Some were Kevin B.'s cooking demonstration, Eric Z. showed how to make handy camp gadgets, Russell L. showed lashings and knots, and Michael For. and James N. did a tent demonstration. These demonstrations were very interactive and Troop 777 loved them. Unfortunately, after lunch Troop 777 had to leave. We all had a blast, and continued the day by cooking dinner. Everyone's meal was delicious, but the best was the Sons Of Liberty patrol with their baked ziti. We all had fun feeling very united with Troop 777, and were able to help them with their foundation of a new troop. We all wish them the best. Several Scouts left with their Tot'n Chip, taught as usual by the one and only Andy Stratford. Give a round of applause to Kevin B. for his cooking demonstration. (Adults rated him a 10+.) Congratulations Kevin. -- James N., Troop Scribe (with Mary Ellen Willen). |
