This hike took us on a tour through the park, starting at the VCP Golf House. We traveled over to the VC Mansion and hiked along the Parade Ground up to the John Muir Trail, sharing the path with track clubs. We followed the JM Trail under the Mosholu Parkway and along the east side of the VCP Golf Course to its northern end. We then hiked west to the Old Putnam Trail and followed the abandoned rail bed south to VC Lake. We explored some abandoned stone monoliths and ended our hike at the abandoned Old Putnam Station stop at VCP. The hike was approximately 4.5 miles long and it took us about 2 hours to complete.
