| This was the celebration and get-together for the Greater New York Council. Troop 240 again cooked a presentation. Three different recipes were presented. Martin Boyle presented yummy Celtic Potatoes, Michael H. made a delicious Hungarian Goulash, and Kevin B. made not only Meatloaf, but also a Peach-Apple Cobbler, that made everyone wish that the hadn't eaten breakfast. Our budding Chef, Martin Boyle, also made an appetizer. All the food was delicious, and people grabbed a lot, thinking it was an all you can eat buffet at the Sizzler. Troop 240 opened the official ceremony as Color Guard. James N., Michael N., Michael H., and Michael F. did our troop proud presenting the colors and leading everyone in the Pledge Of Allegiance, the Scout Oath and the Scout Law. There were many presentations in the Dining Hall, including stores, robot shops, other Troop pictures, the Jamboree, and even NY Knicks representatives. Mary Ellen Willen attended the Boy Scout session and brought home a lot of ideas and materials for recruiting. And the steaks, as always, were delicious. -- James N., Troop Scribe. |
