As part of the Hiking Merit Badge Clinic, we are required to hike five 10 mile hikes and one 20 mile hike. There will be a series of hikes planned during the 2006-2007 season which will allow a Scout the ability to complete this Merit Badge.

To date the following Scouts (and Leaders) have signed up for participation:
Participants included Justin Andreadis, Matt Aronberg, Patrick B., Sean B., Michael For., Michael Foster, Gabriel L., James N., Michael N., Michael S., Adam W., Erik Z., Chris Browne, and myself.

Hike "1" took place at Hook Mountain/Nyack State Park, on November 11, 2006. We hiked 11 miles: 7 miles up and down the 5 peaks along the Watchung Ridge of the Upper Palisades and 4 miles back along the bike path at the shore of the Hudson River. Although the hike took a bit longer than planned, the experiences along the way were memorable as seen in these photos. -- Ellen Beltran, Troop Committee Member, and Hike Guide.
