Troop 240 has a history of Eagle Scouts dating as far back as 1929. Since that time, our Troop has produced 109 Eagle Scouts, with more striving to make it next year. Here are the four scouts who completed their requirements and Board of Review in 2004 to join the Troop 240 Eagle Nest.

Troop Guide Andrew Kasim, ASPL Alex Beltran, SM Joe Acquafredda, SPL Maurice McGrath,and ASPL Matt Aronberg.

  • Alex Beltran (#106) - Refurbishment of the running trail in Riverdale Park from Spaulding Lane to 247th Street; planting 800 bulbs.

  • Maurice McGrath (#107) - Clearing and refurbishing the Badillo Rose Garden, a half block long community garden at 163rd Street and Melrose Avenue in the South Bronx.

  • Matthew Aronberg (#108) - Painting and refurbishing a long fence, and planting 1000+ daffodil bulbs in Henry Hudson Park at Independence Avenue and 236th Street in Riverdale.

  • Andrew Kasim (#109) - Re-opening another running trail in Riverdale Park. Removal of a large amount of wood debris and other rubbish from the trail, putting wood markers along side the trail and laying wood chips as a water barrier for the trail.
